Gamma Gamma Omega participates in the annual March of Dimes Walk-a-Thon. The purpose of the Walk-A-Thon is to raise awareness and support of birth defects and premature births. The March of Dimes mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. Sorors help with registration, fundraising, handing out supplies, and participating in the 6K Walk.
On April 29, 2006, seventeen members of Gamma Gamma Omega participated in the Walk-A-Thon, along with three members of Kappa Alpha Chapter, and raised $1,150.50 for the March of Dimes. To date, Gamma Gamma Omega has raised over $3,000 and contributed countless volunteer hours to the March of Dimes cause.
