Nutrition on Wheels T
he Nutrition on Wheels is a "hands on" project of the United Way of Asheville-Buncombe county.
Gamma Gamma Omega, working together with the United Way and Manna Food Bank, targets independent older adults to ensure nutritional needs are being met as well as providing food items to those in need. Food items include essentials such as can goods, peanut butter, rice, and healthy snack choices.
Quarterly, Gamma Gamma Omega members sort and pack food bags with items donated by sorors and other organizations. Once the bags are packed, sorors deliver the bags throughout Buncombe County to senior citizens.

Sorors gift wrapped customer purchases at Barnes & Noble bookstore for a donation to aid Hands on Asheville. Hands On Asheville-Buncombe is a program of United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County and an affiliate of the Hands On Network that connects individuals and small groups with flexible volunteer opportunities while meeting the critical needs of multiple nonprofits in the community. Sorors also handed out information regarding the program to interested customers.

The Asheville-Buncombe Education Coalition held its End of the Year Celebration for over 300 families and tutors. Gamma Gamma Omega members volunteered to greet and sign in families and tutors at the door.
